Virtual Roundtable Discussion: HB1005 (PL146-2025)

The Indiana Association of Building Officials Legislative Committee will be hosting a virtual roundtable discussion to provide information on HB1005 (PL146-2025), which went into effect on January 1, 2026. The committee has also drafted the informational document titled “What Building Departments Need to Know About HB 1005 (IC 36-7-2.5)” to assist jurisdictions in understanding key provisions of the legislation enacted during the 2025 session. Please note that this document is provided for informational and educational purposes only; it is not intended to serve as legal advice. Each municipality, county, or other enforcement authority may have unique circumstances that affect the application or interpretation of IC 36-7-2.5.
