ICC Training:  2020 Indiana Residential Code Wood Wall Bracing
This seminar provides a comprehensive explanation of the 2020 Indiana Residential Code wood wall bracing requirements. The seminar will focus on basic requirements and clarify the application of wall bracing provisions in the IRC wall bracing Sections R602.10 thru R602.12. Goal: Participants will successfully apply the provisions of the 2018 IRC to case studies involving bracing requirements for wood-framed residential structures in their region.


This course consists of 6 contact hours and earns 0.6 ICC CEUs.


Presenter:  Sandra Hyde, P.E. Senior Staff Engineer
Sandra Hyde, P.E. is a Staff Engineer with the ICC Product Development Group where she develops and reviews technical resources dealing with the structural provisions of the codes. Sandra has developed technical seminars for the IBC and IRC highlighting code changes. She has experience in manufacturing and research with an engineered wood products company. With a Master's Degree in Structural Engineering, Sandra is a Registered Civil Engineer in Idaho and California, a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Idaho and the local and state chapters of building officials.

Registration includes the Sunday night hotel room; Sunday dinner; Monday breakfast and lunch; and the ICC class. 

***IABO will be applying for funding through the Statewide Fire and Building Safety Education Fund (675 IAC 12-11).  This funding will be available to IABO Active members only, and members must sign in and sign out in order to be eligible..  Please DO NOT pay in advance as an invoice will be sent following the class.


Guest Meals:
If you are bringing a spouse or guest, meals may be purchased for them.  Children under 12 eat for free.

The deadline has passed for IABO to book your hotel reservation.  If you need a room, please contact the Fairfield at Fair Oaks Farms directly at 219-394-2100 and indicate that you are with the Fall Indiana Code Education Conference.  IABO is unable to guarantee a room will be available after August 28, 2020
IABO will pay for the room for Sunday night only at the negotiated room rate of $94.  The attendee will be responsible for the difference if that rate is higher.


Cancellation Policy - All cancellations must be received in writing no later than August 28, 2020 to avoid penalty.  All late cancellations with room cancellation will be billed $50; no shows without room cancellation will be billed $120.  Faxed cancellations must be verified they were received.  It is the responsibility of the registrant to make the verification.  Emergencies will be dealt with on an individual basis.

Attendance Notice Regarding Certificates/Funding:
Indiana Association of Building Officials is committed to complying with the requirements of the Division of Fire and Building Safety, as they administer the education fund.

As Indiana Association of Building Officials submits the request for funding on behalf of the membership, IABO will not submit an attendee's name who does NOT attend the entire class; failure to attend the entire class renders that attendee ineligible for funding.
