The Indiana Association of Building Officials' District 4 inspectors met Friday, May 17, 2019 for the regularly scheduled monthly meeting in Columbia City at the Chesapeake Landing Subdivision for a construction site meeting. The group, comprised of building and fire inspectors from Northeast Indiana, discussed various building code issues of residential construction including foundations, framing, electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling.
The district includes fifteen counties from the northern state line down to Jay County and east from the state line to Kosciusko County and has active members from twenty-five different departments and the Indiana Department of Homeland Security. This year marks the group's twenty-fifth year of regular meetings as a group of building and fire code inspectors in Northeast Indiana. With education, networking and public safety as the primary goal, the group also aids members in preparation for inspector certification, and interpretation of the various building and fire codes mandated for enforcement by the State of Indiana.
