2012 InPC Design, Installation and Inspection Principles

A training seminar sponsored by the Indiana Association of Building Officials, Inc. a chapter of the International Code Council, Inc.


Indiana Association of Building Officials will host a seminar on October 15, 2015 to present and discuss 2012 InPC Design, Installation and Inspection Principles.  This course will be presented with Indiana amendments and significant differences with the 2005 Indiana Residential Code.


Date:  October 15, 2015

  • Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.
  • Class will start at 9:00 a.m.
  • There will be 1 hour for lunch
  • Class will conclude at 4:00 p.m.

Cost:

Member $125, this fee will cover the instructor and materials

Non-member:  $150, this fee will cover the instructor and materials

Lunch will not be provided

The Course is worth .6 CEUs/6 contact hours.


Class Information:

Participants will be better able to understand and apply the critical concepts required to safely and efficiently design, install and inspect plumbing installations in accordance with the 2006 International Plumbing Code (IPC), with 2012 Indiana Amendments.  Participants will benefit from understanding the core principles needed to correctly interpret and apply the code.


During this training, participants will be listening to lecture and viewing examples, as well as discussing sections of the IPC that pertain to plumbing system.


Goal:  Upon completion of the course, students will be able to provide key information on the Design, Installation and Inspection Principles based on the 2006 International Plumbing Code (IPC), with 2012 Indiana amendments.


Objectives:  Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be better able to:

  1. Identify code enforcement issues and key code sections.
  2. Describe the application of the code to inspection, plan review and code enforcement.

Instructor:  Gerald C. Flanick, MCP

Gerald C. Flanik is an ICC-Certified Master Code Professional (MCP) holding over 30 various certifications and licenses.  He is a LEED BD+C Accredited Professional and Certified Floodplain Manager.  Throughout his career, Jerry has been responsible for a diverse array of design build projects.


Mr. Flanik serves as the Chief Building Official for the County of Lake, State of Ohio Building Department and is an adjunct faculty instructor at Lakeland College in the Civil and Electrical Engineering Departments.  Gerald holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University, as well as a degree in Civil Engineering Technology.  Jerry is currently working towards a Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Cleveland State University.


Jerry teaches multi-disciplinary courses for Lakeland College, Ohio Building Officials Association, State of Ohio Board of Building Standards, and the International Code Council.  He teaches structural and non-structural IBC, all IRC, IMC, IFGC, IECC, IPC, Accessibility, Green Building, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), and administrative topics.



Please register no later than two weeks prior to class date.  Registrations received after Thursday, October 1st will not be guaranteed class materials at the time of class.


Cancellation Policy - All cancellations must be received in writing no later than October 1, 2015 to avoid penalty.  All late cancellations and no shows will be billed $50.  Faxed cancellations must be verified they were received.  It is the responsibility of the registrant to make the verification.  Emergencies will be dealt with on an individual basis.
